Sometimes, of course, I simply use the input volume knob on the next plug if it got one. Now if I plan to use a plug or, better said plugs (I have a couple of those) that don't have a proper volume out control I use either a plug from the Blue Cat's Gain Suite from the Blue Cat's Freeware Plug-ins Pack II or GGain or GFader from the very useful GVST bundle (this is even easier because there's only one plug there and Blue Cat has mono, dual mono and stereo which can be a problem if that's just a plug which is bypassed most of the time and only moved around when needed for A/Bing (of course, when it happens that I need it to stay between two plugs or after the second plug, I pull out another instance and carry on). Well you know what, except in cases when you want to hit the next plug really hard there's a following solution (at least that's how I do it): after I've set the levels using Sonimus Channel and REAPER volume handle/knob (this because, most of the time I don't want that kind of saturation and those filters (even though they're very good, so, when I'm done I remove the plug)). Having to add a gain plug afterwords is lame. I'm pretty strict about maintaining unity gain when adding plugins otherwise how can you tell if its actually improving tone instead if just making it louder. Without an output gain control I find this kind of useless. Not to mention the feature-update, adding side-chain low cut filters and parallel mixing.Yeah the saturation sounds pretty good but it jacks the volume ALOT.
